For Trace's last semester of University, she went to Universite Canadienne en France, UCF, in Villefranche-sur-Mer near Nice France. She wrapped up her studies, well before Mike did, at the end of 1991. After 4 months apart from each other, we were finally reunited at the Charles de Galle airport in Paris. We kicked off our first travel adventures together with an incredible 4-month trip through Europe. For 2 months we rented and lived out of a very small Renault "Le Car" and for two months we took the train.

On that trip we visited 16 countries including Morocco of Northern Africa. The travel bug was in our blood.

9 years later, before kids and a house we took off in 2000 for 10 months and traveled to SE Asia and Southern Africa. On that trip we were fortunate enough to experience the people geography and customs of 15 countries. At the time we called this trip the First Trip of a Lifetime of FTOAL. We knew at that time that when we had kids we would be sure to take them out of school, quit our jobs if need be and take them on an eye opening, First Trip of a Lifetime (our Second).

After 4 fabulous years of living in Revelstoke BC, home of Revelstoke Mountain Resort where Mike oversaw the Sales and Marketing of the Real Estate for the resort, and where the outdoor lifestyle is rich and abundant - it is now time to head off on our next adventure.

Our plan is to head out in early May of 2013 to show the kids some of the rest of the world. The grandeur and cultures of rich and poor, the amazing people, customs, lifestyles, sights, smells, tastes and wildlife of SE Asia and Europe.
